MPIF – Metal Powder Industries federation 2001 Stainless Steel category Award winner
This gear was developed with the customer as a cost and component reduction improvement.
Originally this was three separate components, a spacer, a ratchet and a bevel gear that were assembled. We were able to combine all three components into one Sintered metal compact and eliminate two components and save the expense of assembly. Total cost reduction 45% .
This Bevel Ratchet Gear is made out of 304 stainless Steel and compacted to a 6.7 gm/cc minimum density. It is used in a disposable medical instrument.
